Some Local Groups May Lose Tax-Exempt Status | News

BUFFALO, N.Y. - According to the Internal Revenue Service some local non-profit groups and organizations may lose their tax exempt status because of a new law that went into effect.

A spokesman for the IRS tells 2 On Your Side the organizations will be given until the middle of October to fill out the proper paperwork required by the new law or they may lose their tax exempt status. Some groups affected include some little league teams, fire departments and youth programs.
